It worked in 7 weeks! This alarm worked so quick for my 5 year old boy that I almost wonder if it was a coincidence. In 7 weeks we completed the program including the 14 consecutive dry nights and then another 14 nights using the alarm every other night. I still can’t believe it.

Excellent product! This product is definitely worth the $. I have purchased two similar alarms in the past with no results–one of them vibrated and didn’t wake my son up after the first few times, and one was a pad that you put on the bed that kept going off even when not wet. This one worked perfectly–you could pick which alarm sound you wanted, and best of all, it was easy enough to put on that my son, 6, could do it himself.
It took about six weeks, but my son is now fully potty trained at night. I am SO glad we bought this product!! He feels so good about himself, and is looking forward to finally being able to sleep over at his best friend’s house.

Success! My son is 9 and will be turning 10 in 7 days. As of about 5 weeks ago, he had never had a dry night. His pull ups were always soaked. We had tried doctors and medications which did not work. This problem affected him socially very much.
I bought it and told my son it was on the way. He cried and said that it wasn’t going to work because nothing had every worked. I told him that we were going to give it our best shot and that it was better than doing nothing.
The alarm came. My son hooked it up and took care of everything himself. The first week was a lot of work. He took care of the alarm, but there was a lot of changing of sheets. The alarm went off 2-3 times per night that first week. He would get up and finish going to the bathroom in the toilet. Every night the amount of clean up was smaller and smaller. Gradually the frequency of the alarm sounding also decreased. It went from a giant puddle to just a little bit in his underwear.
It took a couple of weeks until he had a dry night. Tonight is night 14 of dry nights and I have tears in my eyes as I write this. I am so incredibly happy for my son. He now gets up on his own to go to the bathroom. If you buy this alarm just make sure you follow the directions.

It Really Does Work! My 7 1/2 year old son wet the bed virtually every night, and although it was very inconvenient and time-consuming, I had pretty much resigned myself to it until we went to his doctor for his regular check-up and she recommended we try an alarm. I was somewhat disconcerted by the price, but the reviews here were so positive that I thought it would be worth a try… especially considering that the cost would be offset by the savings on night-time diapers that didn’t even fully contain his urine and all of the laundry I was doing, not to mention more intangibles such as his self-confidence.
I bought the Malem Ultimate Selectable Bedwetting Alarm with Vibration (my son helped pick it out), and we waited anxiously for it to arrive… he was very excited about the prospect of learning how to stay dry. The results have been nothing short of amazing, really. This thing works! I followed the instructions exactly. The first week he had nights where the alarm went off twice a night, but didn’t wake him up until he had completely soaked himself and the bed. By the time I heard it in my room down the hall, it was too late, but we got him out of bed and walked him to the bathroom and went regardless. The next week I realized that I needed to actually sleep with him and help him wake up because he was just sleeping too deeply. That week the alarm went off virtually every night usually twice a night, but I was able to wake him up when I heard it go off and he was only slightly wet each time. The third week, five out of seven nights were dry and the alarm never even went off. The fourth week seven out of seven nights were dry and the alarm never went off. I began to see him wake up ON HIS OWN and go into the bathroom to urinate and then come back to bed. Not a single drop of urine in his underwear. The fifth week was exactly the same… dry every single night. The sixth week…DRY! The seventh week… DRY! By this time, the fourteen days of dryness had elapsed and we could have not been wearing the alarm, but I had decided to just continue to have him wear it for the full twelve weeks, just in case. The eighth week, the alarm went off and woke him up and he had just a little spot in his underwear. We are now on the tenth week, and he has been completely dry without a single instance of the alarm even going off. I continue to notice him getting up on his own on some nights to go to the bathroom and just going back to bed, though he doesn’t even remember doing this.

If you do purchase this, my advice is as follows: follow the instructions to the letter. Involve your child… get them to be excited about it and make it into something exciting and challenging for them. Continue to wear the alarm for the full twelve weeks as long as your child isn’t bothered by it (mine isn’t at all). Prepare yourself for a couple weeks of sleeping very close to or next to your child and getting up a couple of times during the night… the pay-off is sooo worth it!!!
